  1. I love the “Empress” yarn, no matter what you decide to call it. Good luck with the trunk show, I will be watching 🙂

    Hi Heather,
I have a question about the shelves behind you. Are they freestanding, or are they attached to the wall in some way? I love them.

Bev – thanks. The trunk show was rescheduled, so I’ll have to tell you when the actual show will be.

Ida – The horizontal shelves are nailed into the wall (the area is only 6 feet wide so shelves fit perfectly). I cut squares of chipboard and used an air-powered finish nailer to nail the vertical supports in. They aren’t perfectly even, but they work and look great. I painted them the same colors I painted the striped in the room as well for continuity.

I know that this is a really late response, and perhaps things have changed. I haven’t caught up on your saga yet, BUT I wanted to let you know how MAD the LYSs made me. Why in the hell wouldn’t they sell something local? Idiots. I would boycott them, but I’m in Nashville, so I guess I’m boycotting them anyway!

Mari – Yeah, I was pretty upset at the time, especially since my base yarn is the same as so many other companies. It’s softer feeling than Kroy, and Kroy is carried by these yarn stores. So is Noro, which isn’t soft at all (although people don’t buy Noro for the softness). My current goal is to become hugely popular and have them come to ME. That would suit me just fine.
