Episode 26 – Show and Tell

06 Mar

New fibers are up in the Shop – Falkland, sw merino/tencel, and silk (silk will be up tonight).

The waiting game has now begun for my instructor applications for Fiber College.

It’s that time of year again … the time to renew my hosting.  If you’d like to donate, please do!  Every donation over $25 gets your choice of HH or TFF t-shirt.

You can now find me on iTunes!  Just search “The Fiberista Files”.  I’m still available on YouTube, the blog, and elsewhere.

If you want a skein of Focus from Intention Yarns, get it quick.  Once the new Limited Edition Intention goes up the old one will be retired.

Visit the Intention Yarns blog to learn about how to get involved in the blog train.

The story Woolbur by Leslie Helakoski is a fantastic book.

Your fibers are so beautiful! And I love that book…must find that somewhere! 🙂

Have you ever thought of selling your oops yarns or oops fiber? Or do you not get alot of that?

The book was adorable. I think he may have been doing something similar to bobbin lace in the last picture.

Lisa – until this year, I taught high school English. Budget cuts eliminated my position last year, so now I’m a title 1 teacher in the elementary school. It’s quite a difference! I am enjoying it, though … mostly.

KIRC – I am fortunate that with my fibers if something doesn’t come out right, I can always name it something else and sell it. I discount yarns that have more than one knot and fibers if the braid breaks. I also have sales when I have a lot of one-offs; only one of an item. I usually do this right before show season begins so it’s easier to set up my vendor booth. Show season starts late May, so be on the lookout at the beginning of that month! I’ll announce it, of course.

Debbie – Bobbin lace? That sounds interesting. I’ll have to google it. Thanks!

The golden yellow braid immediately made me think it should be called Rapunzel! I don’t spin but I would like to someday.
